Human Trafficking: Legislative Framework, Investigation and Social Implications
Abstract
Human trafficking is one of the most serious and profitable forms of transnational organized crime, with significant implications for human rights and global security. This article examines the international and national legal frameworks of Romania and the Republic of Moldova, highlighting key legislative measures to prevent and combat this phenomenon. In addition, it explores investigative methods, including international cooperation, financial tracing, online monitoring, and victim testimony. The social implications of human trafficking are also analyzed, focusing on its psychological, economic, and societal impact. Finally, the article proposes measures to improve legislative efficiency, strengthen investigative tools, and improve victim protection.
