Abstract

In the prosaic area signed by Adriana Bittel, who, in the spirit of the literature of the eighties, relies on a diversity of epic techniques and procedures manipulated tactfully and finely, the gaze plays a key role in shaping the fictional universe, representing an instrument of memory that develops with a perfect acuity of detail images of the (i)mediated reality. Here it is the meaning in which the main desideratum of this article crystallizes, translated by mapping the operating mechanisms of the gaze, both in the field of short prose, but especially of the novel <<Fototeca>>, by the way, the only creation of a longer epic breath of author. Thus, we consider the way in which the gaze, a constant element and at the same time a thematic invariant of the fictional world, activates the engine of the fictional world, more precisely the memory, but also the way the gaze subscribes to textual strategies: the game of narrative planes or corporeality, e.g.
