Mass-media post-pandemie
Abstract
In this article, we analyze two alarm signals raised by media entities regarding an "unprecedented degradation of the Romanian media" and the "price of silence", both stances having in the foreground the financing of Romanian media institutions from government funds. On the one hand, the funding was aimed at so-called pandemic information campaigns, an approach limited by the health crisis, on the other hand it had the title of "propaganda" - this being the expenditure chapter that appears in the parliamentary parties' budgets. Impressive sums were aimed at promoting and advertising in a non-transparent manner, thus threatening journalistic freedom and objectivity.
