Problematica autor-narator-personaj în Mandarina de Răzvan Petrescu
The problem of author-narrator-character in Mandarina by Răzvan Petrescu
Abstract
The present paper follows the analysis of the contemporary short stories included in the volume Mandarinawritten by Răzvan Petrescu. For our analysis, we will consider the theories of Paul Valéry, Marcel Proust, Roland Barthes and Sidmung Freud regiarding the author’s status, as they are identified by Eugen Simion. We will take into consideration the relationship between the author, narrator and character and the way in which these entities are present in the text in order to gain a
better understanding of the short stories written by Răzvan Petrescu. Using predominantly the first person narration, we will see the way in which the narrator and character overlap and how this technique affects the lecture of the short stories.
