Abstract

This article aims to make a classification of heterotopias in fantasy literature, based on Foucault's Heterotopias and also character’ stereotypes, applying Mauron's scheme. Fantasy literature is a challenging, controversial and a highly debated concept, given the existence of new worlds constructed by authors, in which they place characters who perform possibly (super)natural actions, and the actual narrative does not necessarily have to be scientifically proven. The classification of Fantasy literature has created a semantic terminology game between
the notions of gender and species. iterature, conceptually, encompasses both fiction and non-fiction, according to the term "specialized literature", which is used in almost every field. Fiction has its starting point in the author's imagination, while non-fiction is based on the concepts of truth, fact, objectivity and is designed for information or entertainment. Language is the main way to distinguish between the two types of literature. The stories, regardless of how they are framed according to the methodology of literary theory, have a rich history and have a motivational emanation, which they convey to the reader, even if there is a register of bestiality,
violence, abuse or trauma. Evil must be eradicated, change is a reality and must be embraced, and the hope that at some point someone might discover the cure for eternal life must endure, even if it remains only an imaginary projection. That is why the search for the alternative in Fantasy rarely ends tragically, and the reader is left with the impression, almost every time, that the end is just a new beginning. We believe that fantasy literature has inexhaustible subjects, and, above all, there are real bridges between this type of literature - often wrongly mislabeled and called marginal - and philosophy, geography, physics, mathematics, and, in particular, the arts.
