Is Loth “The Only Game in Town”?

Abstract

This paper presents arguments against the idea that LOTH is the only hypothesis able to give an account of the thought’s compositionality and systematic character. Against the arguments of Fodor and Fodor & Pylyshyn is brought the argument of David Chalmers, proving that the two features of the thought can be explained also in the rival paradigm, the connectionism (information-processing by neural networks). This perspective carries with it the refutation of folk psychology.
