Charitable Activities of Representatives of the Aristocracy from Bessarabia during the Russian-Turkish War of 1877-1878

Abstract

The main directions of the charitable activities undertaken by the Bessarabian aristocracy during the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878 are considered in this paper. Their role in collecting money donations, organizing charitable events, opening workshops for sewing things for soldiers, guardianship of hospitals and hospitals is characterized.
