PRAYER AND SILENCE – LINGUISTIC EXPRESSION AND TEXTUAL CONSTRUCTION IN TRAIAN DORZ ‘ S POEMS
Abstract
The current paper aims at taking into consideration some aspects regarding some linguistic expression and textual design of Traian Dorz's poetry, in direct connection with two key-concepts which define the life and the work of this Romanian mystic poet: the prayer and silence. In fact, the author's creation
represents, undoubtedly, the fruit of some spiritual experiences that have marked his existential path decisively, and the relation between Man and God (earthly speaking, but also from the perspective of eternity) remains a constant topic of such a work dedicated to the amazing feeling of His unique love, in connection with which everything is situated, not once, on the coordinates of being wordless. It is
about a special type of "expressing", which offers the opportunity to live in an authentic spiritual discipline (in prayer also, as a special way to communicate with Divinity and to ascend towards the mystic knowledge path), it being a substitute (and suppressing) any other form of confession through ordinary words.
