CONCIONES LATINAE MULDAVO AND THE ROMANIAN RELIGIOUS LEXICON IN THE 18TH CENTURY
Abstract
The research conducted on the Romanian translation of the sermons contained in Conciones Latinae Muldavo, the homily composed in 1725, by Silvestro Amelio, a Rome's envoy to Moldova, aims at highlighting the fact that, in the 18th century, Western-type religious texts, created for Catholic rite churches, performed in the Romanian language, used practically the same religious lexicon as the
Orthodox writings of the time.
