DIALECTOLOGIA ŞI PRAGMALINGVISTICA

Abstract

Objections are being surveyed here about their ungrounded criticism of oral text
compilations published as part of the programmes called Phonogramic archives of Romanian (“Arhiva fonogramică a limbii române”) and The new linguistic atlas of regionally mapped Romanian (“Noul Atlas lingvistic român, pe regiuni”), both being used as sources for the study of spoken Romanian pragmatics. Their position outside the methodology of the mentioned programmes has led to their being seen as merely sampling the dialectal material from the texts existing in this database. After the introduction of the respective compilations as perspectivity and methodology in the light of a correct dialect survey as one form of communication, undertaken according to a communication contract, functional criteria are being proposed towards a reassessment of discourse in the cited database, to be linked to the diverse relationships between the survey conductor and his subjects. Attention is being
drawn upon codified symbols and “explanations” (Table 1 and Table 2) accompanying the texts that inform on the interlocutor behaviour; the information is contained in certain discourse texts relating to a variety of ethnic and sociolinguistic facts.
