OBSERVAŢII ASUPRA MANIEREI DE EXPRIMARE A POSIBILITĂŢII ÎN ENGLEZĂ ȘI FRANCEZĂ
Abstract
The article provides a descriptive overview of the means used to express the concept of
possibility in English and French, thus occasioning interesting observations pointing out the
differences between the two languages in this respect. Thus, English seems to prefer modal verbs, a special category of verbs combined with various types of infinitives, while French is more prone to using impersonal constructions and predicative adverbs.
