Abstract

Church and School, in Romania, have a historical dialogue. School was created by Church, because in the vestibule of the Sanctuary first Romanian schools appeared. The “modern” secularized history operated an unfair “divorce” between School and Church. This separation was harmful to generations of people, who didn’t have the chance of a minimal Christian culture, especially during the communism. In freedom conditions, the Church has the mission to catechize the present and future believers. The most effective form of catechesis of the future parishioners is made in school through the Religion Lesson. This lesson have to respect some demanding criteria (from the didactic and methodological point of view) and some efficiency criteria (from the formative – spiritual point of view). The Decisions of the Holy Synod that, educational partnerships to be established between parishes and schools comes to support the Religion lesson, trying to church the students, training them for life.
