Abstract

This study aims to highlight how the Sacrament of the Eucharist was reflected by the Byzantine theology in the context of the Palaeologan era, in the context of the two great events which have marked the Byzantine religious life of the period, blossoming of the hesychastic spirituality in the XIVth century and unionist synod of Ferrara Florence in the XVth century, and whether and how they influenced the theology of the Eucharist.
