Contribuția Sfinților Împarați Constantin și Elena la dezvoltarea cultului creștin și a arhitecturii bisericești, potrivit marturiilor lui Eusebiu al Cezareii și Teodoret al Cirului
Abstract
This study refers to the contribution of Saint Emperor Constantine the Great and his mother Helena to the development of Christian worship and church architecture, according to the testimonies of ecclesiastical writers Eusebius of Caesarea and Theodoret of Cyrus. At the beginning, I made some preliminary considerations about the evolution of Christian worship starting with the pre Constantine period and its development until post-Constantine age. Then I made brief reference to Saint Constantine’s policy towards Christians. In another part of the present study I highlighted the major aspects of the development of worship external forms in the age of Constantine, and the directions of church architecture development at the same time, following the testimonies of the two ecclesiastical writers. At the end of the article I put down some conclusions on the undertaken research.
