The Journal of Agriculture and Rural Development Studies (JARDS) was established in 2024. The founding of the journal responds to the need to disseminate the research results of specialists within the Doctoral Program in Engineering and Management in Agriculture and Rural Development at the "Dunărea de Jos" University of Galaţi, accredited by the Order of the Minister of National Education and Scientific Research no. 4938/12.08.2016, within the Doctoral School of Fundamental and Engineering Sciences, classified under the Branch of Science of Plant and Animal Resource Engineering, Fundamental Domain of Engineering Sciences.
The main objective of JARDS is to become a scientific reference source for research related to agriculture and rural development at both national and international levels. The mission of the journal is to publish and disseminate innovative and relevant scientific research results, thereby contributing to the development of knowledge and practices in these essential fields. To this end, JARDS aims to facilitate the exchange of ideas and best practices among researchers, academics, and practitioners globally, thus supporting progress and sustainability in agriculture and rural development.
The development of the Doctoral Program in Engineering and Management in Agriculture and Rural Development, first established in Romania at the "Dunărea de Jos" University of Galaţi (2016), led to the urgent need for a publication that would capitalize on and disseminate the results of these studies and provide opportunities for the publication of contributions from other specialists and researchers from both home and abroad. This facilitates an international academic exchange of knowledge and innovations in agriculture and rural development.
JARDS is published quarterly, has an ISSN, and has been classified as an Open Access journal since its inception, ensuring that works benefit from wide visibility and, implicitly, the citation of scientific products. The publication represents an essential academic platform for the dissemination and publication of high-quality research.
JARDS aims to support the training and development of young researchers by providing them with a space to publish their works and interact with established experts. Additionally, the journal encourages interdisciplinary collaborations, recognizing that innovation and progress in agriculture and rural development often require diverse perspectives and approaches.
JARDS also functions as a tool for monitoring emerging trends in the field, offering analysis articles and syntheses of the latest discoveries and technologies. In this way, the journal serves not only as a repository of existing knowledge but also as a centralizer for new directions in research and development.
In its commitment to excellence and innovation, no fees are charged for submitting and processing papers.
