Review Process

The Double Blind Review Process for the JARDS

The Journal of Agriculture and Rural Development Studies employs a rigorous evaluation process, known as double blind review, to ensure the quality and objectivity of the published articles. The double blind review process is essential for maintaining academic standards and ensuring an impartial assessment of the submitted works.

Steps of the Double Blind Review Process

  1. Manuscript Submission

Authors submit their manuscript to the JARDS editorial office via the journal's email address, jards@ugal.ro. The manuscript must be prepared according to the author guidelines and should not contain any information that could reveal the authors' identities.

  1. Initial Check

The editor-in-chief or an associate editor checks the manuscript for compliance with the journal's requirements and to ensure anonymity. Anti-plagiarism software is used to verify the originality of the manuscript.

  1. Reviewer Selection

The editor-in-chief or section editor selects two independent reviewers who are experts in the article's subject area. The identities of the authors are hidden from the reviewers, and the identities of the reviewers are hidden from the authors to ensure an unbiased evaluation.

  1. Manuscript Evaluation

The reviewers analyze the manuscript, evaluating aspects such as originality, relevance, methodology, and data quality. They provide recommendations regarding the acceptance, revision, or rejection of the manuscript, along with detailed comments and suggestions.

  1. Editorial Decision

The editor-in-chief or section editor makes the final decision based on the reviewers' feedback. Authors are informed of the decision, and in the case of a revision request, they receive the reviewers' (anonymized) comments to improve the manuscript.

  1. Manuscript Revision

Authors revise the manuscript according to the received suggestions and submit the revised version to the editorial office. The revised manuscript may be re-evaluated by the reviewers if necessary.

  1. Final Decision

The editor-in-chief or section editor makes the final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of the manuscript based on the evaluations and revisions conducted. Authors are notified of the final decision, and the accepted manuscript is prepared for publication.

  1. Manuscript Publication

The accepted manuscript is finalized and published in the corresponding issue of JARDS, ensuring that it meets all standards of quality and scientific integrity.

By utilizing the double blind review process, JARDS ensures a fair and impartial evaluation, protecting the anonymity of both authors and reviewers, and thus maintaining the highest standards of quality in scientific publishing.
