Abstract

A phenomenon with real cultural valences, code-switching is determined
by a variety of factors that can be defined as a motivational referentiality of the
speaker in the act of communication. Functional in the field of linguistics and
sociolinguistics as a means of constructing and reconstructing discourse, code switching is a direct result of linguistic contact through a variety of factors.
